Enjoy some wonderful hiking along well marked hiking trails on your holiday in the Lofer mountain world. Whether on a leisurely hike to a hut, a fascinating themed hike or a contemplative walk in the valley – Lofer and the whole Saalachtal valley in the Salzburg region are among the most beautiful hiking areas in the Alps.
So, simply prepare a snack in your holiday apartment, pack your rucksack, wear some suitable clothes for hiking, lace up your walking boots and off you go: you can embark on numerous hikes from outside the front door.
Leisurely hiking tours
Set off on some leisurely hikes on the Almenwelt Lofer, to the Knappenstadl (a former alpine snack station), the Scheffsnother Alm (an Alpine farming area), in the area of the Mayrberg mountain to Maria Kirchental (a pilgrimage church) and the Litzlalm, Hochalm or Kalbrunnalm Alpine snack stations. Children in particular will be thrilled by the exciting themed trails on the Loferer Alm and will enjoy walking along the waterfall route “Auf die Alm”, to the large Marmorsee lake (“Marble Lake”) or the fun dwarf circular hiking trail (“Wichtel-Rundwanderweg”) with a small petting zoo.
Happiness on the high peaks
Just a little higher? Summiteers can look forward to a particularly impressive experience of the natural world while climbing in the Loferer and Reither Steinberge mountains. Please note however, that tours into the Steinberge mountains should only be attempted by experienced and sure-footed mountain climbers.
Immerse yourself in the enchanting Saalachtal mountain world, and, after a mountain tour, you will be revitalised in the cool water of the Steinbergbad Lofer outdoor pool or in the idyllic Vorderkaser natural bathing area.
